University of Otago

I have recently completed my doctoral research investigating the concept of social-ecological resilience in the context of sustainability and environmental change at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. I have a Master's Degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Studies (Tourism) from the University of Northern British Columbia, Canada, and work experience in different research management and liaison positions in Northern British Columbia.

My recent research into the resilience of nature-based tourism businesses to environmental change has allowed me to gain expertise in the application of resilience theory. I am keen to build on this knowledge in the context of the environmental, economic, and social sustainability and policy development challenges faced by residents of British Columbia, Canada, and beyond. I believe a whole-systems perspective is critical to collaboratively work towards sustainability outcomes.

Key research Interests: social-ecological resilience, sustainability, wildlife tourism, nature-based tourism, aboriginal tourism
