Facilitator, makesense

Lia Krucken works as a design educator, facilitator and as visual artist. Her main areas are design for sustainability and social innovation.

She is professor of 'Collaborative Design', 'Design for Sustainability', 'Territorial Projects" and has been running workshops related to design & innovation for change in the last 14 years. She holds a PhD in Innovation and Design (2005) at Federal University of Santa Catarina with studies at Politecnico di Milano (Italy), where she also collaborated as Visiting Professor (2010-2011).

She had been teaching at the Design School - Minas Gerais State University from 2007 to 2015. In Brazil, she furthermore collaborates as lecturer at the Design School of Unisinos, the Innovation Center of the International Business School Fundação Dom Cabral, and for teaching Post-Graduate courses of Innovation Practices at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. She also collaborates with research institutions in Germany - as the Hafencity Hamburg University, in Hamburg - the Parsons New School, USA, and Lisbon University in Portugal.

As consultant Lia Krucken has been running executive training and innovation projects in Brazilian and Italian companies and institutions. She worked with producers communities with the support of GIZ/GFA and the World Bank.
